Weekend Workshop October 8-10th

There are few places in California that offer better fall color than the Eastern High Sierra region. Within a range of fifty miles, we will have the opportunity to photograph fall color around alpine lakes, in spectacular valleys and on mountainsides. In addition to the fall color possibilities, we have the magnificent High Sierra and White mountains to photograph.

The full workshop will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 4:00 PM in the Sierra Room at the Mammoth Mountain Inn with image critiquing and a slide show on advanced landscape composition. Following dinner that evening, we may head out for a sunset shoot at the Minaret Summit just a few minutes' drive from the inn. The full workshop will conclude on Saturday evening.

The weekend workshop will begin on Friday, October 8 at 4:00pm in the Sierra Room at the Mammoth Mountain Inn with image critiquing and a slide show on advanced landscape composition. For the weekend workshop, there will be no classroom sessions on Saturday or Sunday. We will be in the field shooting all day. The weekend workshop will conclude Sunday evening.

It is important to understand, our landscape photography workshops are NOT guided photo tours. They are geared around the concept of learning and taking your landscape photography skills to a higher level. Our workshops feature a low student to instructor ratio, with a maximum of five students per instructor. In the field, our instructors will teach you the techniques of advanced landscape composition. With our low student to instructor ratio, you will get lots of one-on-one time. Then in the classroom, they will show you step-by-step how they take a RAW image file and turn it into a masterpiece. You will learn how to combine an HDR exposure series using Photomatix Pro software and then use advanced techniques in Photoshop CS4/CS5 to optimize that image. During the full workshop classroom, our instructors will work with you one-on-one and take you through the steps in Photomatix for HDR and Exposure Fusion.
